American Candy

If you've ever watched an American movie or TV show, you're bound to have heard a mention or two of all sorts of weirdly-named American candy and wondered what this American candy looks and tastes like.

The American candy you've heard about in the movies wasn't always available to buy in the UK. But these days you can eat your fill of American candy without having to travel thousands of miles across the Atlantic, because you can buy all sorts of American candy at ShinyShack.

We stock many of the most popular brands of American candy, many of which you'll have heard of. But we also stock many brands of American candy that will be less familiar to UK customers.

One of the most famous brands of American candy, which you're sure to have heard of, is Hershey's, whose many well-known American candy treats have been mentioned in movies and books for as long as we can remember. Hershey's Kisses are a particularly well-known variant of this American candy brand; these teardrop-shaped pieces of mouthwatering chocolate are a classic American candy treat that melt in the mouth deliciously.

But Hershey's don't just make kisses. Hershey's are well known for several types of American candy, including all sorts of chocolate bars - like Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme - and more unusual American candy varieties like Hershey's Hot Fudge Topping, which you can pour over ice cream or cakes.

Of course, there's more to American candy than chocolate. Peanut butter and jelly is about as American as American candy gets - get your fix of this American candy favourite with a jar of Smuckers Goober Grape Spread, and give your sandwiches an American candy twist.

Peanuts are a recurring theme in American candy. Many of our American candy treats contain peanuts or peanut butter. Reeses make all sorts of American candy containing peanut butter, like the delicious Reeses Nutragious chocolate bar and classic Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, which are also available in white chocolate. But Reeses aren't the only brand of American candy made from peanuts or peanut butter. Baby Ruth bars, Hershey's Whatchamacallit bars, Butterfinger bars and PayDay bars are all American candy treats that are stuffed with delicious peanuts.

There are of course some brands of American candy that we're already used to seeing on sale in the UK. We're all familiar with M&Ms, an American candy brand that we've been enjoying  in the UK for years; however, there are varieties that aren't readily available in the UK, like M&Ms Coconut and M&Ms Peanut Butter. Many Brits will be aware of the Wonka brand of American Candy - Nerds, for example, have been available in the UK for years - but like M&Ms, there are lots of varieties of Wonka American candy that we're less familiar with. Wonka Runts, Wonka Laffy Taffy and Wonka Bottle Caps are American candy varieties that we don't see very often in the UK, while the Wonka varieties we're familiar with from the classic book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - like Everlasting Gobstoppers and the wonderfully-named Scrumdiddlyumptious Bar - are American candy treats that we hope will catch on in Britain.

If your American candy tastes are all about juicy, fruity flavours, you'll love ShinyShack's American candy classics like Tootsie Roll, Air Heads, Tootsie Pops and Dum Dum Pops.  And if you're looking for some of those classic American candy brands that were available in the UK in the seventies but seem to have disappeared from shops, you're in luck; we stock a few of your old American candy favourites from childhood, like Pop Rocks and Bazooka bubble gum.

You might be thinking: "Wow - so much American candy to choose from... where do I start?" Well yes, it's true that ShinyShack does stock a lot of different American candy brands and making a choice from our huge range of American candy treats may be difficult. That's why we can also supply an American candy pile that will give you a taster of some of the classic American candy varieties available at ShinyShack. Once you've discovered the American candy brands that are most likely to tickle your tastebuds, you can keep coming back for more American candy deliciousness.

American candy is tasty all year round, but we think that the best time to enjoy American candy is at Halloween. Trick or treat is an American custom that's made its way to the UK over the past couple of decades, and if you're going to be handing out sweets to celebrate an American tradition we think it's a nice touch to hand out American candy for a really authentic Halloween celebration. Big bowls of American candy go down really well at Halloween parties too; instead of bobbing for apples you could try bobbing for American candy.

At Christmas, too, you'll find American candy make a great alternative to massive tins of the same old boring sweets and chocolates on sale at supermarkets. American candy is great in Christmas stockings; a few Hershey's Kisses and a pack or two of Twizzlers Rainbow Twists make excellent stocking fillers, while the ultimate American candy treat for Christmas would be a big tin of Egg Nog, served in front of a roaring fire while the snow swirls around outside.

Yummy American candy... so many varieties, so many ways to enjoy them. Whether you're trying American candy for the first time, or are a homesick American living in the UK and need the occasional American candy treat to remind you of home, you'll love the fantastic selection of American candy available at ShinyShack!
